The OnPulse™ technology is simple and safe. Gentle
electrostimulation of the common peroneal nerve, which is located
at the back of the knee, causes the muscles in the calf to contract
slightly. These minute contractions activate the body's own
mechanism for pumping blood back towards the heart at a volume
shown to be 60% to that of walking - see Trials and
The OnPulse™ software ensures the safe, controllable delivery of
electrical impulses via the geko™electrodes. The electrical current
is limited to 27mA and the intervals are regulated to repeat the
cycle of blood movement every second. These settings have been
shown to be the optimal for increased venous return.
All rights to the OnPulse™ technology and the geko™ device are
retained and there are patents pending.
